Heather Bailey – Anacostia Watershed Society

Heather Bailey is passionate about helping people better understand their connection to the environment.  She wants to help people see that they can make small changes in their daily lives that could produce big changes in places like the Anacostia River.  This river has become a big focus for Heather as she begins her Volunteer Maryland Coordinator term with Anacostia Watershed Society in Bladensburg, MD.   Heather will recruit and coordinate volunteers to serve in Anacostia Watershed Society stewardship programs to do tree planting, invasive plant and trash removal, and native planting/revegetation.  Heather hopes to inspire a love and appreciation for nature in others, “My long term goal is to build on these experiences and channel my passion for the environment,” Heather said.   “Through environmental education it’s time to get dirty and make a difference!”
