Sharon Baldwin recently moved to Baltimore from the Washington, DC area and is enjoying exploring her new hometown. Sharon grew up in Indiana and is a proud alumna of Indiana University with a major in Gender Studies. This year, Sharon will serve as the Volunteer Maryland Coordinator with the Baltimore CASH Campaign. The Baltimore CASH Campaign strives to provide working families access to the tools and services needed to maximize their earning dollars. Sharon will provide management and coordination for volunteers in the tax preparation and asset development programs. “I am interested, broadly, in the health of communities and the effect of poverty on the health of communities and individuals. I found the mission of the Baltimore CASH Campaign to leverage tax time and tax incentives as a way to increase financial stability for people with low and moderate incomes compelling,” Sharon said. Sharon hopes to gain skills in volunteer coordination and to meet interesting people, hear their stories, and have fun.
