Education is very important to Kelly Crawford. She is the second person in her family to earn a college degree and the respect and appreciation that her family instilled in her concerning education was inspiring. These beliefs in the importance of education lead Kelly to the Volunteer Maryland Coordinator position with Education Based Latino Outreach (EBLO) where she will manage the recruitment, placement, retention, and recognition of volunteers through seven programs including group and one-on-one tutoring, Spanish reading enrichment activities, interactive literacy activities, and early childhood education. “I joined Volunteer Maryland because I am committed to making a difference in the lives of other people by helping them improve their quality of life and reach their potential by meeting their critical needs and fulfilling needs within the community,” Kelly said concerning her doing a term of service. Kelly hopes to learn more about nonprofits with an eye toward remaining in the nonprofit sector after her service term ends.
