Krisia Jones has always searched for supportive, lively communities to dedicate her time. For the past five years she coordinated and taught Counselors-in-Training at a summer camp that allows children to build confidence and independence in a safe, community setting. She is proud of her work and commitment to teaching young people and excited for her new position as the Volunteer Maryland Coordinator with the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington. “I will serve a large, welcoming community that offers a variety of programs. My focus will be senior nutrition and an intergenerational project where teenagers help seniors develop computer skills to help them stay connected with loved ones,” Krisia said. She is excited to be able to work with volunteers eager to do service, and hopes to improve her skills in program development, recruitment, and management of volunteers.
