Pamela Hargest holds a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies from Towson University, where she helped organize and lead Towson University’s Urban Farm. “I am incredibly proud of this campus farm and the individuals who were involved with this group,” Pamela says. This experience gave Pamela the opportunity to educate students, faculty and staff about sustainable farming and healthy eating habits. Pamela is also an AmeriCorps alum who served at Real Food Farm in Baltimore City, where she continued to share her passion for sustainable farming. As this year’s Volunteer Maryland Coordinator with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, Pamela hopes to become more connected with like-minded individuals within the environmental community in Baltimore. She also hopes to gain the skills needed to create a strong volunteer program for Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, and to work to improve the health of the communities of Baltimore.
