Alex Palmer believes “that it is imperative to organize and unify groups of people to become involved in environmental stewardship. ” Alex graduated from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin with a B.S. in Environmental Studies and has several years of experience in natural resources management and conservation outreach. His experience, education and passion for the environment will serve him well as Volunteer Maryland Coordinator for the Chesapeake Education, Arts, and Research Society (CHEARS). Throughout the service year, Alex will also work with the City of Greenbelt Department of Public Works to recruit and coordinate volunteers for the Forest Stewardship Volunteer Program. Alex hopes that he will leave this program with the skills to both develop and coordinate land conservation efforts.
