Kelly Lawhorn, Natural Partners

Selwyn and KellyKelly Lawhorn has always been motivated by a desire to serve. She is a Silver Spring native who moved to Baltimore in 2008 to attend UMBC. When choosing a field of study, Kelly knew she wanted to major in something that she says “would help me be a catalyst for change in the world. I chose environmental studies.” After graduation, Kelly traveled to the Peruvian Amazon where she served as a Jungle Conservation Volunteer. Upon her return from Peru, Kelly interned with the Humane Society of the United States and volunteered at Silver Spring Green. She is now serving as the Volunteer Maryland Coordinator at Natural Partners, where she will recruit volunteers who will work with 16 schools to plan, plant and sustain Habitat Gardens.
