As she steps into the role of the Volunteer Maryland Coordinator, Kara is eager to make an impact on the volunteer experience at CCC. She decided to do a term of service with Volunteer Maryland because it would be enable her “to have a direct impact on volunteering at CCC and positively impact clients’ experience and expectations.” Kara continues on to say that her new role, “humbles me and also empowers me because I am a link in the greater chain of national service.”
In addition to her work engaging volunteers, Kara is also interested in learning more about the public health world that CCC is a part of. She says that during her first year with the organization, her mind was “opened to the realities of health disparities in Baltimore and inspired my interest in public health.” After her service year, Kara wants to continue to grow in this field.
