After graduating from William Paterson University in 2014, Jackie proudly served with AmeriCorps NCCC in the Pacific Region, where she and her team traveled up and down the West Coast, completing a wide range of projects. That extraordinary experience made Jackie even more eager to combine her love of service with her passion for the environment. Serving as Volunteer Maryland Coordinator with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks affords her just that opportunity. She explains that she pursued Volunteer Maryland “because I wanted to learn more about volunteer coordination for an organization that focused on the environment, both educationally and physically.”
Jackie is interested in a career in the nonprofit or government sector, a preference she discovered both as an AmeriCorps member and, before that, a high ropes and climbing instructor at a Boy Scout camp in the Adirondack Mountains.
Of her goals as Volunteer Maryland Coordinator with BCRP, Jackie says “I am hoping to increase BCRP’s capacity to build more programs for the community by recruiting volunteers. I also hope to work with the current volunteers to improve existing programs and recruit new volunteers to help sustain those programs.”
