Ousmane comes to Volunteer Maryland with a wealth of experience. His areas of expertise include public health, cross-cultural communication, language instruction and conflict resolution. Ousmane also trained Peace Corps volunteers in Niger and served as a liaison between Peace Corps Staff and Nigerien host families. Based in large part on his experience with the Peace Corps, Ousmane became interested in AmeriCorps. Thanks to his interest, knowledge and passion in the area of conflict resolution, the Volunteer Maryland Coordinator position with the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County (CRCMC) is a great fit. In addition, as Montgomery County grows more culturally and linguistically diverse, Ousmane’s skills in cross-cultural communication, as well as his proficiency in four languages, make him a great asset to CRCMC.
Ousmane explains, “The goal of my professional life so far has been building bridges between people. Through my AmeriCorps service, I hope to use my skills in training, volunteer recruitment and management, and community mobilization to support projects that bring help and hope to people in need.”
