Hello, my name is Tiana Samuels and I’m proudly a Volunteer Coordinator at the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults (https://ulmanfund.org/), through Volunteer Maryland. I’ve grown up in Baltimore all of my life and I have always been extremely passionate about giving back to my community. I’m very aware of the effect that Cancer has on my community, the effect it as on my family, and most importantly, the people who are diagnosed. I am now able to build relationships and support those affected. The Ulman Fund will be providing a home for patients seeking treatment which is where I’ll be assigned to engage volunteers and patients, create activities, and encourage a happy and healthy lifestyle. Throughout this experience I am hoping to gain a sense of fulfilment from being a positive support system for others. I plan to facilitate a volunteer program that is not only welcoming, but fun and engaging for patients and volunteers.
“Cancer changes lives, so do we!”
